UN Office Energy Audit and Solar System Project

Project Overview

The UN Joint Presence Office, Majuro consumed 13,619 kWh of electricity in the twelve month period from July 2015 – June 2016, at a total cost of approximately $5,293. This equates to an annual greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 11,576 kilograms (or 25,468 lbs) of CO2. An estimated breakdown of this energy consumption is shown below.

Project Outcomes

The audit of UN Joint Presence Office identified energy efficiency cost savings worth approximately $3,395 per annum. These savings represent approximately 60% of the energy used by the audited office spaces as shown in the graph below

The table below documents the savings potentials that can be achieved by targeting the main energy consuming systems at the office – Air Conditioning (accounting for 79% of total energy use) and lighting (11%), as well as implementing energy saving initiatives to reduce overall energy consumption.
