PROJECTS

Ministry of Health (MOH) Energy Audit

Project Overview

The Ministry of Health (MOH) consumed 3.073 GWh of electricity in the 2011 Fiscal year – a twelve month period from October 2010 – September 2011, at a total cost of approximately $1.372 Million. This equated to an annual greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 2.6 Million kilograms (or 5.75 Million lbs) of CO2. An estimated breakdown of this energy consumption is shown below.

Project Outcomes

The audit of the Ministry of Health identified energy efficiency cost savings worth approximately $641,172 per annum. These savings represented approximately 47% of the energy that was used by the audited buildings (calculated using 2012 Government energy tariff of $0.50/kWh).

The table below documents the savings potentials that can be achieved by targeting the two main energy consuming systems at the Center – Air Conditioning (accounting for 77% of total energy use) and lighting (13%)
